Today I’m excited to have Fauna, fairy Queen of Bellanok, as a special guest.
(applause)
Fauna: (bows head) Thank you for having me. It is an honor to share Brian’s and my adventures with your followers.
Heather: Your adventures on Bellanok, right? Sounds intriguing. Tell me, what is Bellanok?
Fauna: Long ago, Father took what you all know as Eden and placed it on an island in the middle of the ocean. We call it Bellanok. Then He took many endangered or rare creatures and hid them there. He charged the fairies with ensuring the nurturing and upkeep of the island, while tasking the centaurs and dragons with the protection of the island and its inhabitants.
Heather: So, you’re saying Bellanok is really Eden?
(Fauna nods)
Heather: Well, how about that. And how long have you been queen of Bellanok?
Fauna: I was crowned on the first full moon after my mother died. That was about 80 years ago—in man’s time.
Heather: So…how old are you?
Fauna: (raises an eyebrow) I do not believe it is polite to inquire of someone’s age.
Heather: (clears throat) Right, right. My apologies. Sounds like you have been queen of Bellanok for some time. And it has been relatively peaceful. Then, how did the demon get in?
Fauna: I am not clear on the details, but from what Father tells me the demons have spent decades battling the angels. The angels were guarding Lucistos, the spinning sword that blocked entry to the island. One demon supposedly snuck by the angels during a particularly fierce battle.
Heather: Interesting. And once the demon was on the island, it became clear you all were in need of a savior. How did you know Brian was the savior?
Fauna: (blushes) I have been dreaming of Brian since I was a girl. In a sense, I knew of him before he was even born. Of course, I did not know who he was then or what he would become. I t was not until after the demon invaded that Father revealed Brian’s identity and purpose.
Heather: So how did you find him in our world?
Fauna: I am not sure. I was drawn to him as soon as I left Bellanok. I just followed the pull.
Heather: And now some author has taken it upon herself to write your story. How do you feel about that?
Fauna: I am honored that Ralene would even want to tell our story. I think readers will be encouraged and inspired by the Brian’s journey and my own journey.
Heather: Journey? What kind of journey?
Fauna: (laughs) Well, Brian did not want to come to Bellanok. He did not believe me when I told him about the fairies and such. And once he arrived, it still took him a long time to realize who he was in the story. And, as for myself . . . I had to let go of my pride and come to terms with the changes that were happening inside of me and on the island.
Heather: Well, I wish I could get you to go into the scope of your journey, but I’m afraid we’re all out of time. Thank you for joining me today.
Fauna: It was my pleasure!
Heather: Now, folks, head on over to Amazon and purchase Bellanok: The Reluctant Savior by Ralene Burke to find out more about Fauna’s story.
(applause)
Bellanok Blurb:
A haven for myths and legends . . . until evil discovers a way in.
With evil darkening the mountains to the north, the fairy queen, Fauna, must journey from the island realm of Bellanok to the modern world to find the man the Creator appointed to save their kingdom. A man she has been dreaming of her whole life.
Brian is a down-on-his-luck pastor on the verge of giving up on God. He’s tired and frustrated–a failure. No sooner does he make a decision that jeopardizes his career than an unusual blonde woman shows up and tries to convince him he is some kind of savior.
Fauna must open Brian’s eyes to a different reality, and Brian needs to embrace the haven’s secrets. If neither of them succeeds, Bellanok will succumb to evil and the world will lose all trace of innocence.
