Book Release: The Awakened

As a writer, I have a constant radar bleeping in my brain, running in the background. It’s my official Story Detection Radar. I’m constantly taking anything from a quirky thought, to a stray comment on social media, and turning it over to examine it for a possible story angle. Ideas can come from so many places and one must peek under all the common looking rocks to examine what uncommon species of inspiration might be lurking there. Click & Tweet!

And every so often I read a story that is so wonderfully clever I wish I’d thought of it myself! Not that I’m jealous. No, I’m merely struck by how exciting it would be to have something that unique blossom in my own brain. I can’t help but think that there is a literal lightbulb flicking on overhead when an author conceives of such a fabulous hook!

Today I’d like to introduce you to just such a story 🙂 Enter, The Awakened by fellow MBI author Richard Spillman.

Based on the scripture, “[…]it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27). Richard asks the question, “What if someone already died once, and they were brought back to life…like, Lazarus?”

Hmmm. See what I mean? Great ‘what if’ question to get those creative juices churning.
