Due to the sensitive secrets revealed in my novel, The Tethered World, it is necessary for me to conceal my identity from angry Trolls and Dark Dwarves that may decide to retaliate. They are horrible sports when it comes to their cryptic deeds being brought to light. Nor do they appreciate my chronicling their defeat at the hands of the Gnomes et al.
I’m the kind of person that floats off into the realm of “what if” pretty easily. “What if toys DO come to life when we’re not looking?” “What if I DO have the secret code on my receipt to win $1,000,000?”
Family
Though some may call me strange, there are four someones that call me Mom, and one special someone that calls me his wife. The six of us now reside in the great country—er—state of Texas, but I grew up in Orchards (Vancouver), Washington. I’ve also had the privilege of homeschooling my children, one of whom is autistic.
Beloved Books
I am huge fan of C.S. Lewis and (of course!) his Chronicles of Narnia series. I also love his works in Christian apologetics. He’s one of the top-five “gotta meet ’em when I get to heaven” guys.
Other favorites are the Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins and Wingfeather Saga from Andrew Peterson (who also records some of my favorite music).
Last But Not Least
Oops! I almost forgot two more “someones” that should be mentioned. Both call me Daughter. My mother, who continues to believe her daughter can do ANYTHING (I can’t imagine why she’s still convinced of this…), and my father who went to heaven in 2002. He passed on his “what if” gene, his artistic abilities, and his long legs and large-ish nose to yours truly. Thanks, Mom and Dad 🙂
When not musing about unusual worlds on my computer, I teach ballet at a fine arts school for homeschoolers in Fort Worth, TX. We have about 900 students in our unique program.
Other pastimes I love? Drinking iced lattes, cloud watching, and getting lost in a good book.
